Deepening The Journey Conference 2023

We are excited to invite you to our 2023 Deepening The Journey Conference, a conference especially designed to support, inspire, nurture, extend and challenge TRJ Teacher Guides.

This year’s conference is being held in Noosa at the RACV Noosa Resort.

We are delighted to have a couple of Keynote addresses from Nathan Wallis (NZ) on the teen brain.

Judith Locke, author of The Bonsai Child will be presenting ‘Too much of a good thing: Overparenting and child wellbeing’

“Modern parenting is undoubtedly more involved, and most parents work hard to give their children a great start. But parent efforts can sometimes result in reduced resilience and confidence in their children to face life’s challenges. This makes it difficult for schools and organisations to deliver age-appropriate tasks for their students, often because of reduced student skill and potential parent backlash. In this 60-minute presentation (plus 15 minutes of questions), Judith will help teachers understand the reasons and consequences of modern ideas of care for children, and then give ideas about ways to overcome the problems.”

Of course we also have our sharing gatherings where we hear from each other about our successful classroom practices and ceremonies and get to ask questions of the collective wisdom regarding any challenges we might be having with TRJ at our place.

Speaking of Challenges – our Mystery Challenge Day (including Mystery Dinner) returns for the fourth time – I wonder what you’ll end up being asked to do?

All of this along with plenty of time to network with other teachers from all around Australia and New Zealand.

Pre Conference Eumundi Markets Trip Information

For people who would like to experience the wonderful Eumundi Markets in the Noosa Hinterland we will be offering a morning trip up to the markets departing RACV Noosa at 9am on Wednesday 1/11/22 and returning in time for the start of the conference.  There is no cost for this trip but numbers are limited so please make sure you book during your registration process.
