On December 2, 2014, I lost a wonderful colleague and a very dear friend, Amrita Hobbs.
As a tribute to Amrita, her contribution to The Rite Journey and her passion for working with disadvantaged youth I have established The Amrita Hobbs Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship is available to be applied for by youth services and schools who are working with at risk or disadvantaged youth and might otherwise not be able to afford implementation of The Rite Journey. Full and partial scholarships are available.
Schools and youth services may find out more information about this scholarship or obtain the application by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Following Schools are being supported in 2016 through the Amrita Hobbs Memorial Scholarship Fund
Maryborough State High School, Qld
Oxford Area School, NZ
Amrita was such an amazing woman who bravely fought her breast cancer for 3 years. She leaves a significant void at both a personal and professional level.
Rite Journey friends may remember that a class of Rite Journey girls from Willunga, South Australia, made this quilt and when they heard of Amrita’s illness they asked me to gift it to her.
When Amrita passed, she was resting under the girls’ quilt and one of her final requests was that the quilt remain with her after her passing.
May she rest in peace with a deep sense of the legacy that will live on.
